Must have:
- ability to monitor operating system, network and cloud events and respond to emergency situations
- communication, team-building and leadership skills
- ability to pay close attention to detail
Typical tasks include, but are not limited to:
- assists in the development and automation of operating system, network and cloud security best practices
- participates in operating system, network and cloud deployments and provides advice on tools, monitoring, and reporting
- responsible for applying configuration changes and ingestion of new logs
- establishes mechanisms for fine-tuning security monitoring and alerting
- reviews vulnerability reports across the network and assists to triage findings
- participates in information security incident response efforts
- ensures incident identification, assessment, reporting, communication, mitigation, and monitoring
- consults with users concerning cybersecurity problems and assists with resolution
- performs threat management, threat modelling, identifies threat vectors and develops use cases for security monitoring
- creates reports, dashboards and metrics of security related events
- assists in the development of and direction of programs with the unit
- assists with the development and review operational procedures, policies, and standards
- maintains current knowledge of cybersecurity topics, trends, and technologies
- assists in the selection, evaluation, and testing of new security tools, technology and services
- collaboration within units to determine security needs, planning and implementing security measures
- support units in customer and third party audits
Advantages:
- previous experience working as security manager, security officer or other security related job (e.g. analyst)
- CISM, CISSP or equivalent
