Tieto has joined MyData Global as one of its founding members. Established in October last year, MyData Global is an international organization whose aim is to improve people's self-determination regarding their personal data as well as their ability to transfer data smoothly from one service provider to another. It strives for a fair and sustainable digital society where the sharing of personal information is based both on trust and a balanced and fair relationship between individuals and organizations.

In our own work in this area, for example, we have utilized blockchain technology to build a trust layer between the organizations and individuals, thus creating completely new services and business models for different industries. MyData Global, based in Finland, already brings together more than 500 people and 70 companies from across 40 countries, and continues to grow. The organization is the culmination of several years of work. Before taking on its present form, the MyData network ran annual international conferences for personal information experts in Helsinki and created a global community around the topic of personal data and data empowerment. Tieto has been an active player in the MyData community from the beginning, participating in community gatherings and conferences as a partner and speaker.
