We deliver the future platform that market actors can use to communicate with the European energy market's system operators.
The Energy Communication Platform (ECP) is the communication platform chosen by European system operators like Svenska Kraftnät, Fingrid and Statnett to manage information exchange between market actors and system operators.
ECP is based on the Market Data Exchange Standard (MADES) framework, which was developed by ENTSO-E to provide secure and reliable communication between actors in the energy sector.
Supported services: some examples of market processes that support ECP communication
System operators have made the strategic decision that ECP will be the future platform to be used by market actors to communicate with the European energy market's system operators.
At the same time as system operators' IT systems are restructured, the number of market processes that support ECP communication is expected to increase, and the forms of communication that will be used in the meantime will gradually be phased out.

Simple implementation means that the market actor can swiftly start using an automated ECP communication solution for exchanging information with the system operator without using its own resources.
The service makes it easy for market actors to meet new technical and operative requirements set by the system operators, which in turn means that market actors' revenues can be ensured over time.
Exchange of information in standard formats and structures provides enhanced data quality in the market actors' system, which is a prerequisite for problem-free customer and business management.
Frequency restoration reserve (FRR). The purpose of FFR is to create conditions for managing the initially fast and deep (transient) frequency deviations that can arise in the event of faults in the Nordic energy system during low levels of rotational energy in the system. Two products are available, one that is activated automatically (aFRR) and one that is activated manually (mFRR).
An FCR is designed to stabilise the frequency in the event of frequency deviations, and is fundamental to maintaining a balance. It is activated automatically if the frequency deviates from the frequency area it is meant to support. FCR is procured in advance for every minute of the day. A variety of FCR products are available.
System operators are already using support systems for the energy systems' various needs that require ECP communication, but a growing number of market processes are being tailored to the new ECP solution. One example is the introduction of eSett ECP as a new communication platform for sending and receiving NBS data.
Tietoevry provides implementation, configuration and operation of the ECP endpoints that require server capacity as well as operative and administrative resources with knowledge of MADES, ECP and the EDX toolbox (described below).
To make it easier for market actors to meet technical and operative requirements, Tietoevey offers a cloud-based solution whereby the ECP endpoints for each actor are set up, monitored and managed by Tietoevry. This is done in the well-established business information exchange (BIX) system.
