The customer aimed to develop an optional accessory camera system that would enhance the existing multi-camera solution designed for vehicles. The primary goal was to achieve seamless integration with the base system, while introducing provisions for incorporating two additional cameras and two displays.
Tietoevry team supported the customer with this endeavor, by undertaking software development and providing hardware support to incorporate an optional feature within the vehicle, enabling remote Wi-Fi camera.
Operating under a fixed-price business model, Tietoevry successfully provided a dedicated team of experienced embedded software developers, test engineers and application developers accompanied by proficient program management and seamless technical interfaces, to engage with 3rd parties and OEM customers.
Tietoevry experts assumed the responsibility of developing the Wi-Fi Receiver unit, an embedded system based on Yocto, designed to interface with remote Wi-Fi cameras. The communication between various devices was established through Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), while video streaming was received over Wi-Fi and presented on the vehicle's head unit. The expertise also included platform bring-up and analysis of BLE and WLAN 802.11 protocols to establish seamless video transmission.
