Tieto and Greenbird enters into strategic agreement – providing joint offering for energy business

Tieto has entered into a strategic partnership agreement with Greenbird Integration Technology AS, a Norwegian system integrator developing the cloud based integration service Metercloud. The agreement enables for Greenbird to develop official and supported connectors in Metercloud for Tieto Smart Utility.
Tieto Smart Utility is a modular software as a service solution designed for energy retail, distribution and multi utility companies. The solution addresses the requirements stemming from present and forthcoming regulation of electricity markets. The scalable cloud service also meets stringent information security requirements by utilizing Tieto's Nordic data centres. Metercloud as an advanced integration solution will add value for the customer in terms of interoperability, rapid integration and lower risk. Combining Tieto Smart Utility and Greenbird’s Metercloud, the joint solution is a SaaS (Software as a Service) bundled package that will enable out of the box support for common business processes within smart metering and smart grids. The agreement will lead to increased cooperation with the aim to identify common business opportunities, test joint technical solutions, enhance the parties’ existing products as well as exchange mutual knowledge and experiences. “Greenbird’s value proposition is highly complementary to that of Tieto, so this partnership have strong mutual gains. With our joint package, we are able to create added value for the customers by providing them two technologies that ease their operations. The automated end-to-end process aims to deliver value to both Tieto’s and Greenbird’s customers as the joint solution is able to trigger anomalies much faster when comparing to other products on the market. Therefore, the customers can potentially gain large cost savings.
