Adoption of the public cloud in the Nordic countries is increasing, as companies look for agile, cloud-native technologies that drive growth and expand their global footprints states the latest Public Cloud 2020 report by ISG (Information Services Group). The report also names TietoEVRY as a leader in four public cloud service areas.

According to the ISG Provider Lens™ Public Cloud 2020 report, companies are looking for public cloud providers to help them modernize their infrastructure and use next-generation cloud technologies such as containers, microservices and artificial intelligence. Public cloud demand in the Nordics is also driven by an interest in productivity and efficiency gains and the transformation of customer experience, the report says.

“The Nordic IT market has always been one of the most progressive in Europe,” says Jan Erik Aase, director and global leader, ISG Provider Lens Research. “Enterprises and even smaller companies across all Nordic industries are increasing their cloud spending.”

“Nordic enterprise and mid-size clients are increasing traditional workload migration into multi-cloud. The firm has been an instrumental technology and next generation IT service provider with its robust cloud portfolio and niche talent availability in the Nordics market. TietoEVRY’s public cloud managed services, with demonstrated transformation capabilities, helps clients to accelerate digital transformation journey”, states Manoj Chandra Jha, ISG’s Lead Public Cloud Service research analyst.

The ISG report also sees a growing need for strategic partnerships between system integrators and cloud hyperscalers. It is essential for cloud service providers to get certified and increase their competencies in AWS, Azure and GCP.

“We see that customers are moving to cloud foremost to adopt new ways of working, agility and new ways to build services. This demands tighter collaboration and partnerships, where our experts work closely with our customers to provide the full benefit of cloud”, says Robert Darre-Nilsen, Head of Public Cloud in TietoEVRY.

“The constantly changing cloud ecosystem requires us to have a more agile mindset in terms of building new services and capabilities to provide value for our customers. Moving to automation and using an Everything-as-Code and DevOps based approach allows us to provide that value faster”, he continues.

Nordic executives are focused on innovation and transformation as they adopt public cloud services, the report adds. Companies are consuming cloud services from the three big providers, AWS, Azure, and GCP, based on a multi-year strategy defined by the CTO and CIO.

The report names TietoEVRY as a leader in the following four quadrants:

  • Consulting and Transformational Services for Large Accounts
  • Consulting and Transformational Services for Midmarket
  • Managed Public Cloud Services for Large Accounts
  • Managed Public Cloud Services for Midmarket
