OP Financial Group, Finland’s largest financial services group, and TietoEVRY, the leading provider of software and digital banking services in the Nordics, have agreed to cooperate on a biometric payment card pilot.
The Stockholm region and TietoEVRY have signed a new agreement which supports the implementation of TietoEVRY's digital tool 'Lifecare Coordinated Care Plan'. The product, which was developed in collaboration with inpatient care and municipal care, is part of the region's and municipalities' work to respond to future care needs and has the ambition of providing better and safer care using digitalisation. The agreement is initially valid for four years with the possibility of extending for up to another four years.
Almost 70 percent of respondents in a new Swedish consumer study would be interested in a biometric payment card without having to touch the point-of-sale terminal. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the respondents expressed a strong interest in more hygienic and secure payment methods when shopping in stores. The study was carried out in October 2020 by TietoEVRY together with biometric fintech company Zwipe.

IDC Cloud Survey 2020 reveals the direction for Nordic cloud transformation: Even though one-third of Nordic organizations are still using only one private or public cloud platform most organizations are using two or more. According to the study, multi-cloud is becoming the norm in the Nordics. The study was carried out by analyst firm International Data Corporation (IDC), in collaboration with TietoEVRY, and included the opinions of 200 IT decision-makers from across the Nordics.
Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA) has signed an agreement with TietoEVRY, to implement an Instant Payments System in the Maldives. Initiated under the Maldives Payment System Development Project, the Instant Payments System will form the most essential component of the project. Despite being a geographically dispersed island nation, the successful implementation of the system will enable users to make and receive payments in real-time, irrespective of the island they live on or where they bank. It will also facilitate the introduction of innovative payment solutions to the market by Payment Service Providers, connected via a single platform.
The City of Västerås has completed its procurement regarding IT operation services and has chosen TietoEVRY as its IT partner in four out of five agreement areas. TietoEVRY will support the city in their digital transformation, and the agreement extends over four years and amounts to a value of SEK 300 million. The agreement also includes an option to extend the delivery by another two years.
