Mill health check

A consultation service that analyses mill operations, identifies process improvement areas and creates a comprehensive report regarding findings and recommendations.

Higher mill efficiency

It is good practice to conduct a regular external review of your mill’s operations. This can reveal improvement areas in Order to Delivery processes and also how systems can be used in the most efficient ways.

The mill health check (MHC) can also be used to benchmark your mill’s performance in terms of your own targets and compare your operations with those of peer mills. Our consultants use their wide experience of different mills, their processes and performance to help improve your business
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Tietoevry has created a concept called remote mill health check (eMHC). Using modern collaboration tools, it is possible to conduct the entire process remotely.

Key features

Interviews and virtual mill tour

Our experienced consultants conduct a set of interviews with customer contact persons (management, process owners, key users, etc.). This, combined with our virtual mill tour and pre-analysed mill information system data, provide the sources for all consultancy work.

Jointly identified improvement areas

Together with customer contacts, improvement areas and pain points are discovered. Some examples of scope include order fulfilment (OTIF), trim efficiency, waste, lost time, lead times, stock amount and turnaround. Further, mill execution system parameters and master data issues will be improved/streamlined/analysed.

Final report

Our consultants prepare a final report with findings and recommendations, which is reviewed together with the customer. It is worth noting that MHC is not an audit, nor is the target is to sell anything to the customer. Rather, we want to simply identify process-related improvement areas to increase mill efficiency.

COVID-19 impact

COVID-19 might impact mill operations, meaning a mill health check could be valuable to your company right now. Tietoevry is running a campaign price for eMHC, with a very attractive fixed price available on request.
