Benefit owner

The PPS role orderer change name to benefit owner

Orderer becomes benefit owner

PPS is changing the name of the role orderer to benefit owner.

The role orderer has existed in the PPS model since the beginning, but as the model has grown and changed, we now see a possibility to clarify the responsibilities and tasks for this role, through changing the name.

Benefit owner

The PPS model today have full support for business development, including business benefit management and business change management, and the change of the name for the role harmonises with this.
The role name benefit owner is more active and indicates clearly that the role has great responsibility in the work to reach the business benefit. The role name orderer can be interpreted as doing just an initial order of a project/assignment, and later not being involved and responsible for the outcome, which is not in line with PPS.
Furthermore, the role name benefit owner is in harmony with the role project owner, which creates a better understanding for the responsibility and division of tasks between the two roles.

What does this change mean in practice?

PPS will change the word orderer to benefit owner in skills, tools, movies and templates in PPS OnLine.
Those customers with adaptations in PPS OnLine have been contacted for possible actions.
