The main responsibility of the Database Migration Specialist is leading data modernization initiatives and the migration of data to corporate IT systems using best industry practices.
The role has following key responsibilities
Technically own the end-to-end Data Migration Stream.
Define the Data Migration Strategy with the help from Business Analyst and Solution Architects.
Perform the Gap Analysis between the tactical and Strategic Data Models.
Coordinate with all impacted source-system, and IT teams.
Provide Statistical reports of data moved, transformed, cleansed, and loaded.
Develop procedures, scripts and utilities that transforms the data as per requirements.
Work with Test team in designing the Test Cases as per the requirements.
Work with Infrastructure, Release and Governance team to understand the different environments.
Support in defining the Data Migration Plan and responsible for successful delivery of Data Migration as per the Release Timeline.
This position needs
At least 7-15 years of overall IT Experience working with SQL Database.
Experience of working with high transaction intense large complex databases.
Very good experience in T-SQL programming
Technical expertise on ETL applications, with emerging technology platforms and cloud architecture (Azure).
Experience in building and maintaining SSIS packages.
Designing data model and create views, procedures, and triggers as required.
Understanding of data related policies and procedures.
Contribute to coding and process improvements, and automation of data ingestion processes where possible.
Work with underlying systems to understand the complete end to end flow.
Design the process, test, and migrate data into a target environment from a multitude of data sources.
Have good working knowledge of tools like JIRA, ServiceNow etc.
Pursuing high quality in all activities (code, design etc.)
Trouble shooting for technical issues.
Based in Pune but willingness to travel
Excellent skills – communication, collaboration, interpersonal, presentation, perseverance, team player.
University education.
Knowledge of Banking domain.
