Fast-growing market

Alektum Group has seen fantastic expansion in what has become a fast-growing market. From its office in Gothenburg, their centralized IT-department serves 30,000 clients in 16 markets. The company has around 35 million cases in its system and imports about 16,000 new cases every day.

One common system for many markets

Nova is designed to drive business while supporting different countries’ regulatory standards. It can be configured to meet local and regional regulatory compliance and reporting requirements, making it much easier for debt collecting companies to enter new markets.

“We use Nova in all 16 countries” says Camilla Hennemann, Alektum Group CIO. With one common system, we can provide a great cross-border service to our clients. Basically, we can provide them with one portal for all their market and reporting needs, directly from our solution. At the same time, we can easily get an overview of the debt perspective, even with 35 million cases.”

Straightforward migration

“Over the years, we have acquired companies in different markets with diverse collection systems. The first thing we do is migrate them into Nova,” continues Camilla.

“We recently helped Alektum Group migrate a Norwegian company into the Nova platform, following an acquisition,” says Crister Svantesson, Product Manager Nova, Tietoevry. “Migration is a relatively straightforward process that offers many cross-border benefits, so it makes a lot of sense for our existing clients to onboard new acquisitions into Nova. The same argument obviously applies for any company that is not fully satisfied with its collection platform.”

“We are able to develop exactly what we need, based on how we want to do collection – which makes having one common collection system key, and that’s Nova. It will remain so for several years ahead.'"

Automated, feature-rich system

Nova is a highly automated system that can handle all the collection workflows, such as sending reminders to debtors, devising payment plans and communications with bailiffs. As a debt collecting company, you can decide the level of integration with legal authorities and bank payment systems, among others, as well as how much automation you want to incorporate into your operations.

“Nova gives our clients a best-in-class debt collection platform from which they can tailor features to fit their customers and markets,” continues Crister. “They can also build services on top of the platform that are unique to them and their customers.”

Long-term collaboration

Since the companies began collaborating in 1997, they have worked closely to ensure Alektum Group can get the most from the system. This includes meetings on both technical and operational innovations and opportunities.

“We are involved in regular discussions regarding feature development including how they should be prioritized as part of the Nova roadmap” says Camilla. “Within the Nova User Group, we also get to meet industry peers and can share experiences and best practices.”

Finally…

“We are able to develop exactly what we need, based on how we want to do collection – which makes having one common collection system key, and that’s Nova. It will remain so for several years ahead,” concludes Camilla.
