Tieto and Snow Software join efforts to provide customers with actionable IT asset management intelligence

03 December 2018

The Nordic IT services and software company Tieto has entered into a strategic partnership with Snow Software, a leading software asset management provider. Tieto integrates advanced software asset management (SAM) capabilities into its IT asset management portfolio. This provides customers full visibility to software assets across the enterprise, enabling successful digital transformation.

As the pace of change accelerates, the risk of being disrupted increases. However, the transformation also brings unprecedented opportunities for efficiency gains and business growth to Nordic organizations. With continuously updated data connecting users with hardware and software, IT asset management enables the digital transformation by providing actionable intelligence on business risks and opportunities.

With the growing numbers of software across the enterprise, augmented by Software-as-a Service consumption, SAM is expected to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 15% in the period 2017-2022. As a part of Tieto´s IT asset management offering, SAM will become an enabler for cost optimization and risk reduction for organizations.

“With a complex IT estate of workstations, mobile devices, data centers, physical as well as virtual servers, cloud services, etc., the complexity of software usage is increasing exponentially,” says Mathias Åberg, Head of Workspace Business, Tieto. “In today’s cloud-centric businesses, IT asset management is something that requires even more attention. The enterprise simply needs to know what software is being used, how it is being used, and how its usage could be optimized.”

To strengthen the value of customers´ IT asset management data, Tieto is at a fast pace rolling out the possibility to visualize, analyze and optimize the entire software estate. Next, Tieto will also cover IaaS automation and optimization, software vulnerability analysis as well as GDPR risk analysis based on Snow´s ambitious roadmap.

Tieto´s IT Asset Management, complemented by Snow Software, is now able to provide full visibility into software assets across any organization, powering full software lifecycle management. This can provide insights directly into business activities such as budgeting, forecasting, trend and performance management, as well as compliance.

“We want to be the preferred partner in business renewal for Nordic organizations, meaning that we offer our customers all they need to drive their business. In perfecting the Tieto IT asset management offering for the Nordics, Snow Software is an important piece of the puzzle,” Åberg continues.

“By bringing our complete offering suite to the market, Tieto today holds a unique position in our region as our only outsourcer at the platinum partner level. As an example, the level of Snow competence Tieto has invested in the last year is the highest amongst our outsourcing partners. Tieto’s high competence, strong presence in the market and focus on the digitally transformed economy is a very good match with Snow’s vision and position as market leader in our field,” says Mikael Ollevik, Regional Business Manager, Snow North Eastern Europe.
