Tieto Named a Top 15 Sourcing Service Provider by ISG

16 February 2017

Tieto, a leading software and services provider in the Nordics, today announced it has been named a Top 15 Sourcing Standout by Information Services Group (ISG), a leading global technology research and advisory firm. Tieto was among the leading providers in the Building 15 category for the EMEA region based on annual contract value (ACV) won over the last 12 months, according to the 4Q 2016 Global ISG Index™.

Now in its 57th consecutive quarter, the ISG Index™ provides an independent quarterly review of the latest sourcing industry data and trends. Each quarter it names the 15 top providers in the Big 15 (revenues of more than $10 billion), Building 15 (revenues between $2 billion and $10 billion) and Breakthrough 15 (revenues of less than $2 billion) categories for each region. Each Top 15 category includes providers that compete in the traditional outsourcing market, as well as those that compete in the as-a-service market, including IaaS and SaaS providers.

“We are happy to see that the transformation of Tieto is being recognized on many fronts. Advisors are vital stakeholders within our industry, and to position ourselves within the top 15 companies in the ISG Index™ is an important acknowledgement of our efforts. Our track record over the last twelve months extending current or establishing new client relationships, in many ways, reflects the investments Tieto has made in recent years to truly become the partner for business renewal so greatly sought after in the market today” says Håkan Dahlström, EVP for Technology Services and Modernisation, Tieto.

During the past couple of years, and in the last 12 months in particular, Tieto has acquired several companies, among them Emric, the market leader in the Nordics for credit processing software; Smilehouse, a Finnish E-commerce specialist, and Software Innovation, a Nordic leader in Enterprise Content Management. Such expansions of Tieto’s service portfolio has been noted by the Nordic market, resulting in the success of customers and also in rankings such as the ISG Index™. The investments also support the new company strategy focusing on innovation and growth, which was launched in March 2016.

Significant investments in innovation and automation have enhanced Tieto’s ability to deliver on the manifold opportunities of digitalization. Internal startups, incubators and SaaS solutions augment the powerful IT services, creating value for our clients through modernization. Contracts of considerable value have been signed within the retail, public, energy and financial services industries.

Tieto’s inclusion in the ISG Index™ is based on data the company submits to ISG each quarter.

“For nearly 15 years, the ISG Index™ has been the authoritative source for marketplace intelligence related to outsourcing transaction structures and terms, industry adoption, geographic prevalence and service provider performance,” said Paul Reynolds, chief research officer of ISG. “Tieto continues to establish itself as a leading and growing player in the global market for software and services, based on its volume of business in relation to other industry providers.”
