Tieto and Goodpatch team up for a powerful Cross Reality (XR) prototyping of digital car experiences

Driver and passenger experiences have come a long way – and they are evolving faster than ever. Automotive product development engineers and designers are already working on new features which will realize in the near-future cars. However, it is often difficult to prototype and test the end-user-experience with conventional prototyping techniques.
Tieto and Goodpatch, an international design firm, will together introduce Cross Reality (XR) prototyping capabilities, which will pave the way to develop new Human-Machine-Interface (HMI) in-car-experiences. Tieto is one of the leading providers of R&D services for automotive OEMs and tier-1-suppliers with a focus on Digital Cockpit, Connected Car, ADAS and safety-critical automotive software development. Goodpatch’s Engineering Studio, Athena, specializing in cross reality, has developed the software, cARVR, a powerful tool for automotive UX designers to model and test driver and passenger experiences. Jointly, Tieto and Goodpatch will accelerate prototyping, designing and testing the user experience of autonomous driving, and car infotainment in the real-like virtual environment.
