Equileap, a non-profit organization, published its third cross-sector ranking showing how well the world’s top companies, across all sectors and countries, perform on gender equality. This year, Equileap researched 3,519 companies in 23 developed economies, representing 98 million employees, and ranked them based on 19 gender equality criteria. These companies represent all those which are publicly listed and have a market capitalization of more than USD 2 billion.
At Tieto, we believe in employing a truly eclectic mix of people – looking beyond gender boundaries, ethnicity, religion or belief systems, physical ability, sexual orientation or age – is fundamental to creating an inspirational workplace. For us, diversity is a game changer in innovation – and to keep us competitive as an employer and a business partner.
“We are proud to keep a good score among the top three global tech companies and the positive feedback on our transparency throughout all categories by Equileap is a confirmation that we are on the right track. Still, we do not see equality as something that we will achieve once and for all, so this year’s ranking is a good reminder and will help us to keep focus”, says Angela Kristiansson, Global Inclusion Lead at Tieto.
In 2015, Tieto was the first IT company in the world to receive the gender equality certification from EDGE, the leading global assessment methodology and business certification standard for gender equality.
2018 Tieto India has also been listed in Top 100 Best Companies for Women in India by Working Mothers and Avtar group by BD foundation.
