Tieto has appointed Jussi Mekkonen (M.Sc.), as Head of Advisory, Industry Software starting September 1, 2019. The role is new at Tieto.
Mekkonen has a strong background in development and management positions, especially in the finance sector. He joins Tieto from Ferratum Bank, where he was CEO. Prior to that, he held multiple leadership positions at Nordea, including serving as Head of Personal Banking for Finland. In his new role at Tieto, Mekkonen will focus on strengthening the dialogue between business and IT in Tieto’s customer projects.
“Business requires new solutions to succeed,” says Mekkonen. “At the same time, however, we must take care that existing, often old processes can be carried out with little risk and renewed in a controlled manner. The business strategies leaders pursue and the technology choices they make must go hand in hand. We need new thinking and deeper cooperation between technology providers and client companies. I am very excited to contribute to this important work in my new role at Tieto.”
