Ishtar Touailat, Head of Innovation Incubation at Tieto, has been given the award “Female Leader of the Future” by the Swedish organization for managers, Ledarna. It’s a prestigious annual award, handed out to prominent young women in managerial positions. On the list is also Rana Ersgård, Head of Corporate Sales Operations, Tieto.
- It’s a great honor to receive this award, and a great testament to Tieto and our company culture. I am convinced that this is an important ranking to highlight role models that can inspire young talents. My leadership is built on my values and a drive to constantly challenge the organization with an innovative and fast-paced mindset. I believe that these are key components in motivating employees and developing our business and ways of working, says Ishtar Touailat.
The ”Female Leaders of the Future” is an annual award that was presented for the 12th consecutive year in 2018. The list compiles 75 top executives from a wide range of sectors. Many of the candidates work for international companies and are stationed abroad.
The list is compiled by a jury who evaluates several hundreds of resumes. The candidates are benchmarked against criteria such as results and achieved position, personal attributes and potential.
- The Swedish society needs new managers with a modern leadership style. We see in Ishtar Touailat a listening, value-driven and courageous person with an invaluable ability to drive innovation as well as to see her employees. The purpose of the reward is to turn the notion of leadership as a predominantly male arena upside down, while highlighting top talent and strong leadership. As Sweden’s top female leaders, these women become role models within their respective industries. One of the listed on the “hot list” (places 31-50) is also Rana Ersgård, Head of Corporate Sales Operations.

Ishtar Touailat joined Tieto in the spring 2017 to drive Tieto´s innovation initiatives related to areas such as AI, machine learning, deep learning, fintech and digital health. She has previously worked as Chief Innovation Officer and Business Coach at Stockholm University's Innovation Office, where she trained and coached thousands of current and future entrepreneurs. She was also named “IT woman of the year” by Tieto in 2016, for her work and commitment to increase the percentage of female entrepreneurs and number of startups driven by women.
