Tieto and Jukolux have established a joint cooperation to innovate and deliver IoT solutions for demanding needs in industrial environments and hazardous working places.
When Jukolux’s proficiency in connectivity and lighting is combined with Tieto’s expertise of the data-driven world, analytics and customer technology knowhow can be offered as an all-in-one solution for demanding industrial purposes. The cooperation aims to create a joint offering of innovative, sustainable and ready-made ‘’plug and play’’ solutions for industries such as mining, oil and gas, and locations like road tunnels and distant construction sites, which have challenging environments and a growing need for robust solutions in the near future.
Cooperation between Tieto and Jukolux started last autumn when Jukolux took part in the first EnergySpin growth program for startups seeking for strong international growth. The EnergySpin Accelerator and its operations are partnered by leading energy companies in the Vaasa district. Tieto is one of the sponsors and key mentor companies supporting this ten-week-long accelerator program. The EnergySpin Accelerator Program includes company-specific training for business growth planning, product development, commercialization, marketing and communications and financial advising.
Together Tieto and Jukolux have a great opportunity to leverage their strong capabilities for their customers’ business benefits to bring innovative solutions to the market. Tieto Oyj’s Janne Herkama is excited about the new partnership with Jukolux: ‘’We have already achieved one key learning from the collaboration: building business value for joint end customers via ecosystems with partner requires understanding both strategy and mutually beneficial opportunities,’’ he says.

In April 2018 the EnergySpin growth program’s second launch was publicized, and it was an immediate success. 120 companies from 43 countries from Europe, Asia, Africa, North America and South America sent in their applications. The companies that applied are startups in the energy business and in fields linked to the energy sector, such as digitalization, IoT, AI, cybersecurity, big data and gamification. Ten happy startups will be chosen to take part.
