We create value for life also with our societal engagements

13 December 2017

Instead of giving traditional Season's Greeting gifts to customers and employees we continue our tradition to give back to society. Societal engagement area is a part of Tieto's DNA: We create value for life with our expertise and also by giving back to society. The future lies in the youth. Therefore we want to focus on investing in the youth through our main projects.

We will continue our cooperation with My Dream Now, Sweden, and Identity Foundation and Lila Poonawalla Foundation, India – all doing a great job of supporting educational needs among children. In 2018, we will continue working with our Suomi 100 efforts (Finland 100 programme celebrating the centenary of Finland’s independence) by bringing 100 school classes to Heureka science centre, and continue our work with The Children and youth Foundation in Finland.

My Dream Now helps children pursue their future dreams

My Dream Now (Swe) is an organization focusing on building a bridge between companies and schools with the aim to inspire young students to fulfill their future dreams. Tieto has engaged in My Dream Now in different ways since several years. We have had employees volunteering as class coaches, as well as students participating in study visits and job shadowing to inspire and increase their understanding of daily work life.

Identity Foundation helps underprivileged children

Founded in 2003, Identity Foundation is a charitable trust in Pune, working with underprivileged children. We have supported Identity Foundation's Mobile Learning and Infotainment Centre (MLIC) buses since 2007. In the two mobile learning and infotainment buses underprivileged children, such as street children, can get literacy as well as life skills education. The MLIC’s also serve as information facilities by giving children an exposure to positive entertainment and providing useful information.

Lila Poonawalla Foundation empowers women to pursue higher education

Lila Poonawalla Foundation (LPF) is an Educational Trust in India whose vision is to contribute to the empowerment of Indian women by supporting academically outstanding and financially deserving girls, through scholarship to pursue higher education.

Tieto brings 100 school classes to Heureka

Finland became an independent state on 6 December 1917 and turned 100 years in 2017. Founded in 1968, Tieto has been part of almost half of the journey in building today’s Finland. To participate in the centenary and celebration, Tieto supported the Finland 100 Programme. Our engagement with the program and with the youth will continue in 2018 by bringing 100 school classes to Heureka science centre.

Cooperation with The Children and Youth Foundation

We will continue our cooperation with The Children and Youth Foundation to support children in achieving their dreams by workshopping and discussing the skills that are needed in the future work life.
