29 September 2017
The Swedish sawmill and wood processing company NK Lundströms Trävaror meets the future with Tieto’s forestry system TIFF (Tieto Integrated Fibre Flow).
The family-owned sawmill, wood and fibre supply specialist NK Lundströms Trävaror has signed an agreement with Tieto to upgrade its IT environment and adopt TIFF (Tieto Integrated Fibre Flow).
The powerful cloud service brings speed and agility to NK Lundström’s operations in the county of Västerbotten, in northern Sweden.
“Our company has always kept up with changing technology. This industry-specific forestry system makes Tieto a valuable partner for us. We are confident the investment will boost our planning capabilities and strengthen our competitiveness,” says Peter Lundström, CEO, NK Lundströms Trävaror AB.
The TIFF system is provided to the customer on-demand (SaaS, software as a service) and introduces new business intelligence tools that improve interactions with forest owners and timber suppliers. Productivity-boosting benefits include traceable logistics, greater mobility, consolidation of stocks, real-time communication and automated work processes.
Mats Lidström, Customer Executive, Tieto, comments on the partnership:
“TIFF unlocks new opportunities in delivery planning and operations mapping. We are very pleased to assist NK Lundströms on this journey as it pursues cutting-edge efficiency in its wood processing.”
The modernisation will be felt across the value chain at NK Lundströms, simplifying everything from purchasing, contracting and felling to customer delivery.
