When a vacancy arose as a team leader in TietoEVRY in Örebro, Robin just had to apply. He'd already set his sights on TietoEVRY and knew that we wanted to spend his days Shaping the Future.

What kind of job would you have done if you didn't work here today?
Probably something to do with music. Maybe I'd have become a rock star, but more likely I would have worked in a music store.
So, Robin – Tell us about your journey in TietoEVRY!
A friend of mine was already working here and had a lot of good things to say about the company. I'd even had TietoEVRY as a customer in my previous job, and saw them as an exciting company with a culture that I wanted to be part of. When I heard that they were looking for someone for the role I have now, it was natural for me to apply. Today I'm responsible for a team that provides support, sales support and technical consultancy. In 2016 I moved from Örebro to Karlstad, but I really wanted to stay with TietoEVRY, so the fact that it has 25 offices around the country was a major advantage, and I could transfer my role between those locations.

What makes TietoEVRY such an exciting employer?
The management has a very forward-looking approach and is prepared to invest a lot in the company and in our development. Change management and continual assessment play a key role in what we do, which means that there's always something new happening and that things are driven forward. Because the IT industry is also changing and we are such a driven company, we also offer many development opportunities in-house. It just feels as if this is where things happen.
What's the best aspect of your job?
The culture and the atmosphere in our office make our work extra fun. We have a really good, fun, open and relaxed culture. I feel at home in the office. I really like change and enjoy the progressive atmosphere. We never end up in the same track; we develop and meet new customers and challenges all the time, and that makes the job more fun."
Does TietoEVRY make sure to look out for your needs, ambitions and curiosity?
Our managers are good at taking into account the employees' areas of expertise, and there are lots of opportunities for personal development inside the company; for example, you can become a leader, or change your location or area of interest. I wanted to develop personally and professionally, so I attended the Swedish Defence University's leadership courses. I've also attended courses to gain certification in IT and had the chance to participate in procurement tasks and sales initiatives with other teams. If you know what you want to do and can justify it, then often you will be able to do it.
