Business Challenge
Corteva was on the lookout for an external IT services vendor who would be able to build a digital services platform for farmers and agronomists alike. With the smartphone app, the end-users would have a 360-degree view of their farms and fields, including land quality, ownership status, historical data on farmed crops, and more. Key requirements included:
- Supporting full farm lifecycle management across seasonal cycles.
- Delivering the solution before the start of the farming season.
- Collecting and responding to stakeholder feedback to improve usability and functionality.
Our team was engaged to develop two generations of the app, ensuring it met initial needs and could evolve with user feedback and the client’s growing business goals.

Solution & Business Value
In close collaboration with Corteva, we developed the first version of the app (v1), which had all the necessary data and core functionalities for effective farming while bridging the gap between the two categories of end-users – farmers and Corteva agronomists. For version two, we focused on refining user experience and design, based on feedback from farmers and agronomists.
The solution fully complied with Corteva’s expectations. We met tight deadlines and tackled the aspect of seasonality that is important for the agricultural business.
As a result of our collaboration, our client, as a vendor, can now offer a comprehensive mobile solution to the international markets that enables:
- Full farm lifecycle management – from planting to harvesting via mobile or desktop app.
- Proactive resource management through hyperlocal weather notifications and irrigation alerts.
- Improved usability and adoption based on farmer feedback, highlighting convenience and clarity.
- Future readiness, as the app is designed for modular updates and further integration with additional farming tools.
The solution is available for download both for iOS and for Android handheld devices.
Together with Corteva, we continue to improve and support the solution. Ongoing collaboration focuses on adding new AI-driven field health insights and analytics, enhanced international support, and new integrations with external platforms like John Deere, enabling seamless data import/export, richer farm analytics, and even more streamlined workflows.
Technical Details
Our engineers ensured the possibility of scaling the country-specific product further across multiple geolocations, including client’s offices and other locations.
Finally, we orchestrated the feedback from multiple stakeholders and decision-makers at Corteva’s regional branches to enhance the development process and refine the product after each demo.
As a result of the 1.5-year end-to-end development project, Corteva received the first version of the solution (v1) – an all-encompassing data aggregator app, allowing to:
- Create and manage farms from a smartphone or a desktop app.
- Use up-to-date information to enhance land management.
- Cover the seasonality of the business, as the app offers control over full-cycle farming throughout the year.
- Check the field health status by leveraging remote sensing and AI features.
- Monitor hyperlocal weather forecasts, issue alerts to plan field irrigation, etc.
Feedback from users of the first version of the app highlighted the need for a more intuitive interface, faster data access, and better support for mobile and tablet devices. For v2, we implemented several key components:
- Technology upgrade and platform modernization: completely migrated from Cordova framework to a microservices infrastructure and React/React Native to enhance scalability and performance.
- Enhanced user experience: redesigned UX/UI based on direct feedback from farmers and agronomists, making workflows smoother and information easier to access.
- Scalability for international deployment: structured the app to support additional geographies and countries where Corteva operates.
- Structured feedback loops with stakeholders and regional branches, feeding feedback directly into the development process to continuously improve the product.
The development of the next version started in April 2024, released in December 2024. Continuous interaction between v1 and v2 allowed for seamless integration of new technologies and improved features without disrupting end-user experience. Since March 2025, all users in all geographies have been using v2 of the app.
