Tieto has been entrusted to deliver a comprehensive wood and fibre procurement system for Martinsons, one of Sweden’s largest family owned wood-processing companies. The solution is based on Tieto Integrated Fiber Flow (TIFF), a cloud service providing industry-specific modules for management of the entire value chain, from purchasing, contracting and felling to delivery.
“Development and innovation have always been vital driving forces behind the success of Martinsons. As we now take the next step towards the forest-management system of the future, we need a long-term partner at the cutting edge of new technology who is capable of delivering a combination of IT and business expertise. That’s why we’re delighted to be working with Tieto, who, with the acquisition of Imano, now leads the way in the industry,” says Anders Ringsell, Forest Manager at Martinsons.
“We’re really pleased about the partnership. We have one joint objective: to develop a modern, innovative industry solution. Martinsons’ innovative approach and modern working methods, featuring just-in-time delivery, dovetail nicely with the added value that the solution provides,” says Johan Halling, product owner for TIFF at Tieto.
Key components of the solution, which will be published in 2017, include: Purchasing support including contract management, mapping support as well as supplier and property registers. Production module including planning tool for felling managers. Delivery planning and My account solution for forest owners/timber suppliers. The solution is linked to SDC for import of settlements, and conforms to the renewal of VIOL3, with papiNet as the new messaging standard.
