Tieto and CareCom have signed a strategic partnership solving the challenge of semantic interoperability for healthcare IT systems. The agreement is strengthening the cooperation and product offering for CareCom’s terminology platform, HealthTerm.
HealthTerm handles all tasks related to terminologies, code systems and structured content – from creation of a new code systems to translation of international code systems or mappings between local code lists and international standards. Together with CareCom Tieto will offer solutions to one of the healthcare systems big challenges of semantic interoperability and integration.
The terminology platform is unique in having a full set of tools to create and maintain all types of code systems and at the same time, it has the performance/security to handle the biggest healthcare enterprises on run-time look-up. In addition, it can be easily integrated into existing healthcare applications e.g. HL7 newest standards as FHIR, or used as a stand-alone terminology management solution. The platform is currently used by customers in the USA, U.K, Slovenia, Portugal, France, Denmark and Norway.
