Tieto strengthens its eCommerce offering and accelerates web applications with Telia CDN

30 May 2017

Tieto is partnering with Telia Company to help companies offer faster and more reliable web services. The partnership means that Tieto becomes a reseller of Telia Content Delivery Network (CDN), a world leading cloud service that helps e-retailers meet customer demands for fast page loads and constant access.

The new deal with Telia Company strengthens Tieto’s eCommerce offering and gives customers’ access to Telia CDN as either an add-on service or as part of the eCommerce solution Tieto Retail Experience. Telia CDN is available now for Tieto’s Swedish customers, and the partnership will eventually include all Nordic countries.

”The reseller agreement creates a stronger overall solution for our eCommerce customers and will be an important part of Tieto’s cloud service offering. The service will help our e-retailers handle more customers simultaneously, while also improving the digital customer experience. We are pleased that Telia has chosen us as reseller of a solution that is so important to our customers, says Anna Brodd, Strategic Partner Manager, Tieto Sweden.

Telia CDN uses a global network of servers that accelerate page load times regardless of where the visitor is located in the world by distributing the web content closer to the end user. Studies have shown that shorter load times lead to higher conversion rates. Today’s consumers can leave a site after just a couple of seconds if it does not load fast enough.

”Load times cost money, not just in terms of fewer visitors and lower conversion rates but also in terms of brand value. With a CDN service, we can deliver a faster and more reliable shopping experience globally, says Helena Berg-Christiansen, Channel Partner Manager, Telia Company.

CDN-services also protect companies and organisations against temporary overloads stemming from higher customer traffic or so-called DDoS attacks. By distributing the increased traffic across the network, it offloads the company’s web servers and ensures that the web services continue to function optimally.

”E-retailers can gain a competitive edge by optimising the shopping experience based on data-driven insights about their visitors. By accelerating a digital store through scalable and flexible cloud solutions companies do not need to invest in its infrastructure, which can lead to significant savings, says Helena Berg-Christiansen.

Tieto and Telia Company have cooperated in many areas over a long time. The new partnership will make the relationship between the companies even stronger.

”Tieto offers a broad portfolio of IT services to customers all over the Nordics, where CDN fits in well as a part of the overall ecosystem. With Tieto as partner we can reach customers who want an easy way to improve their eCommerce through one single provider, says Helena Berg-Christiansen
