The Finnish Prime Minister’s Office chooses Tieto to boost digitalization in central government

22 February 2017

The agreement with Tieto is valid to year 2020, with the purpose to create a gradual transition toward digital management of everything from case and document processes to electronic archiving. The new solution will enable employees to work in a more mobile, structured and efficient manner and increase transparency of processes.

In the first step the central administration of the ministries, the Office of the President of the Republic of Finland and the Office of the Chancellor of Justice will replace their current system with the Tieto 360° solution - a standardised system for managing cases, documents and archives. In the next step approximately 80 government agencies in Finland have an option to take the solution in use via the Valtori framework agreement.

- We are pleased to have this highly important agreement in place. The digitalization of case and document management within the Finnish Prime Minister´s Office is a significant transition which has been thoroughly prepared. The aim is to standardise our ways of working and move towards a digital first oriented mindset in our operations, says Max Hamberg, Director of Information Management and ICT Division at The Finnish Prime Minister´s office.

The solution is based on the Tieto’s Public 360 product which is widely used in the Nordics, offering over 450 public sector organisations easy access and improved usability through mobile devices, such as phones and tablets. It streamlines the work processes for staff, reduces administration times and frees up the organisation’s resources for other tasks.

- We are very excited and proud to take part in one of the most significant digitalization projects in Finland. Cross-government harmonisation and standardisation of daily work is one of the important initiatives to keep Finland and the Nordic countries up to speed in the digitalization of the public sector, says Cristina Petrescu, Executive Vice President, Public, Healthcare and Welfare, Tieto.
