Malaysian Newsprint Industries chose TietoEVRY as their business transformation partner

The renewal is based on Tieto Integrated Paper Solution (TIPS) for the pulp, paper, board, packaging, tissue and non-woven industries.

Malaysian Newsprint Industries Sdn Bhd (MNI), one of the leading manufacturers and suppliers of paper across South East Asia, has selected TietoEVRY as their business transformation partner. The modernisation of the MNI’s key business processes will improve quality of paper and On Time In Full Delivery Service (OTIF). It will also enable visibility of real time data and Key Performance Indicators (KPI). The renewal is based on Tieto Integrated Paper Solution (TIPS) for the pulp, paper, board, packaging, tissue and non-woven industries.

Malaysian Newsprint Industries is a 100 % recycling newsprint mill and newsprint provider in Malaysia. The company has decided to replace their existing system with TIPS which supports both the company’s existing and new business processes. The new business processes will include production of printing and writing paper (prw) as well as recycled medium paper (rmp) and ensures 100% reliability and automated processes.

The renewal covers various MNI key processes, for example, order to cash, advanced planning and trimming, reporting and analytics, warehouse management and logistics, invoicing and integration to the existing ERP system.

“MNI was looking for a long-time partner to enable business renewal, who has certified SAP integration capabilities and experience from the Asian market. The tightening competition sets growing requirements to software systems and TIPS has already proven to be the right choice for our operations. The system offers trusted real-time information for decision making, more visibility to the full value chain, good user experience and analytics – tools that are needed to succeed in business,” says Alan Chuah, IT Manager, Malaysian Newsprint Industries.

“We are excited to support MNI in their transformation journey and help them to further improve customer experiences in the competing paper market. Digitalization and automation will increase visibility in the whole value chain and enable up to date reliable information from all the needed process stages. All in all, the renewal improves decision making process and efficiency – helping our customer to gain growth,” says Carsten Henke, Head of Production Excellence, Pulp and Paper at TietoEVRY.

TietoEVRY’s TIPS solution is optimised for the pulp, paper, board, packaging, tissue and non-woven industries utilising industry-proven best practices. It is the leading MES (Manufacturing Execution System) and has already been installed in over 250 paper mills worldwide.
