Glatz chose Tieto and SAP S/4HANA to provide an integrated solution that covers the whole value chain in one system. TIPS/4 (Tieto Integrated Paper Solution on S/4HANA) combines S/4HANA, industry-specific block planning and a fully functional Manufacturing Execution System (MES) in one system.
Core processes now operate seamlessly – without any interfaces. Changes to attributes or processes are made in just one system, resulting in previously unseen business flexibility. Core Data Service (CDS) views make the data contained in this powerful system accessible through a modern UI. State-of-the-art Fiori screens for main MES functions ensure usability and efficient workflows.
As an agile and differentiated niche player, Glatz required non-standard functionalities that could be implemented efficiently. Based on TIPS/4, the company has now reached that goal, at the same time ensuring fast ROI.

Insufficient documentation, the significant maintenance effort and lack of experts for the old systems had created an outdated and nontransparent IT setup that was gradually affecting both process execution and the bottom line.
Single system for smooth processes, better agility and faster ROI
Glatz now has one single system for its core business, with agile processes and simple changes. There is a single source of truth for process and master data quality. This translates into efficient end-to-end business – from fast order entry to integrated logistics execution.
The system also acts as a new command centre for differentiated and agile business. All data is available in one view, without interfaces. No ERP-MES interfaces are needed, which significantly reduces IT maintenance efforts.
The fully transparent supply chain within one system achieved with the new system results in reliable stock levels. Batches are traceable all the way from pulp to bobbins, which shows as improved customer service.
