On November 17-18, Tietoevry will be at Slush as a main partner with the aim of boosting innovation and growth together with the vibrant startup ecosystem.
09 November 2022
We showcase e.g. how AI can be used to prevent bullying in schools, how industries can optimize their use of renewable energy, and how people with cognitive disabilities helped us develop a time-reporting solution never seen before.
Like Slush, Tietoevry believes that to overcome humanity’s most pressing problems technology should have a purpose that contributes to a better world. To accomplish this, we need the next generation of entrepreneurs, VCs, and corporations to work together for this common goal.
“We participate at Slush to display and boost our commitment to the Slush themes of the decade centered around diversity & inclusion, purpose-driven change, and revolutionary innovation. The event and the Slush ecosystem at large provide a much-needed platform of innovation spirit and inspiration for a tech-empowered sustainable future. This is also the feeling we want to convey about the tech industry overall, to make it the workplace of choice for talent with diverse backgrounds. Together we can reinvent the world for good.” – Kimmo Alkio, CEO, Tietoevry.
Tietoevry brings to Slush a variety of demos and experts, both from within the company and from our partners, to show how we have made use of data, analytics, AI and other top technology to solve concrete problems – and how we are embracing diversity & inclusion, sustainability and the power of ecosystems in our operations.
Running industries on renewable energy; Energy has become one of the big topics of our time. Tietoevry Distributed Energy Solution (DES) provides a real-time overview of operations – from utility-level assets to small-scale distributed energy resources – making it possible to see how to optimize them and generate more efficient revenue streams.
Payment cards go beyond plastic; Plastic cards contribute to a lot of plastic waste and both consumers and governments are looking to the card industry to make the cards more sustainable. Tietoevry Banking is engaged in customer collaborations that enable banks to reduce their card business’s environmental impact.
Making invisible emissions tangible with Tietoevry’s Sustainability Data Hub; Climate crisis, loss of biodiversity and rising demand for human rights are changing the way business is being done. With increasing pressure from investors, consumers and legislators, enterprises need to be more transparent about their sustainability actions than ever before. Tietoevry’s solution provides organizations with a real-time, easy-to-grasp visual view of their ESG-data, helping them reach their sustainability goals faster.
TIDA – an inclusive IoT solution; More and more services are being digitalized to make daily life easier. At the same time, an increasing number of people are left behind of this development against their will. With inclusive design, one can counteract digital exclusion. Tietoevry’s TIDA solution is an example of this, enabling persons with cognitive and/or physical limitations preventing them from using app or other digital services, to clock in and out of work with a digital time reporting tool.
Digital twin against bullying; Reports on children being bullied, even from early age, are worrying. Bullying can have long-lasting and devastating effects that last a lifetime. To combat bullying, Tietoevry has partnered up with Friends and the University of Örebro to create what appears to be the first preventive anti-bullying tool in the world – named the Digital twin against bullying.
Save the harvest using AI; Saving the wine, one grape at a time, from the perils of late-season frost caused by climate change. Digital transformation is rapidly evolving also in agriculture. While there is the perception that only large-scale producers can benefit from digital technology, this case shows that smaller businesses also can benefit from using IoT and data analytics to increase efficiency.
Driving Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in tech industry - Slush Partner event, hosted by Inklusiiv
Hanna Vuorikoski from Tietoevry joins a panel discussion (on Nov 17) addressing: What is the current state of diversity, equity and inclusion in the tech industry; What are the barriers that hold back progress; And what should we do to achieve a more diverse, equitable and inclusive industry?
Building trusted digital societies – with the power of ecosystems
The global Information technology markets are changing due to new technologies and business models. Part of the Business Finland-funded Veturi initiative, the mission of Tietoevry’s Trusted Digital Societes programme is to create affordable, accessible, and trusted digital services for citizens. The programme can offer various kinds of support to its ecosystem partners, e.g. assistance with the application process, finding partners, collaboration with other Veturi programs and developing cooperation between two or several partners. Tietoevry experts from the programme can be met at our booth during the event.
Digital inclusion on the agenda with Startup Refugees
How does Tietoevry together with Startup Refugees help newcomers to integrate in the Finnish job market and the society? How does this link to diversity and inclusion? Tietoevry and Startup Refugees have collaborated for several years and we are together present at Tietoevry booth to share concrete examples on how everyone can help.
