Through Kraftsamla, Tietoevry India supports gender equality and social transformation for an inclusive society

Tietoevry India has joined hands with Kraftsamla to shape a brighter, more equitable future by empowering women, bridging gender gaps, and promoting diversity and inclusion.

Kraftsamla is a collaborative initiative among Swedish companies operating in India, under the umbrella of the Swedish Chamber of Commerce India. It is focused on human flourishing and building a world where all are honored, dignified, and respected.

The initiative’s mission includes addressing key areas:

  • Lifting the burden and bridging the gap for women and their children to pursue quality and professional education, including the provision of digital tools
  • Promoting gender studies to foster a deeper understanding of how gender impacts society and
  • Supporting the Task Force on Gender Sensitization to build ambassadors for change

Tietoevry has been part of the Kraftsamla initiative for the past few years, providing financial aid to support its projects. The goal is to catalyze transformative dialogues and empathetic actions towards gender justice, with a special focus on quality and professional education for women and their children.

Below is a snapshot of Kraftsamla’s reach and impact as highlighted in their FY24-25 annual report:

  • Bridge The Gap Scholarship:
    • Over 100 women and 10 children received scholarship support in 2024-25, with a target of 150 women and children.
    • Scholarships cover courses such as nursing, engineering, MBBS, teacher training, business administration, and education for children from nursery to Class 12.
  • Equitable Digital Access:
    • 175 women to receive laptops in 2024-25, with 16 distributed so far
    • Plans to establish city-specific access points for distribution and engagement starting early 2025
    • Companies are encouraged to host access points involving their employees
    • Recent field visits highlighted the importance of internships for scholarship recipients as a bridge to employment
  • Field Visits:
    • Engaged with 22 female scholarship recipients and their college principals in Kerala.
    • Students are pursuing degrees in nursing, sociology/disaster management, architecture, and engineering.
    • Students highlighted the scholarship's enabling role and the need for more internship opportunities.
  • Equitable Digital Access:
    • Partnership with organizations providing training and employment opportunities for women in challenging situations.
    • In Latur, Maharashtra: 50 women received digital literacy and entrepreneurship training.
    • In central Delhi: Over 500 women received skill training, literacy classes, and support in various forms.
  • New Study "In Plain Sight":
    • A report on gender discrimination highlighting both explicit and implicit biases.
    • Includes practical recommendations for organisations on promoting gender justice.
  • Task Force on Sensitization:
    • New batches of the India and International Task Forces started in September, with over 60 leaders from 24 companies in 9 countries.
    • The Task Force aims to develop ambassadors for gender justice within and beyond participating organisations.
