Gender sensitivity in corporate environments is crucial and we, at Tietoevry, are committed to promoting and upholding a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusivity within our organization. Being a part of SCCI's National Task Force on Gender Sensitisation has been an enriching experience for us.

The Kraftsamla programme is a collaboration between Swedish companies in India, spearheaded by the Swedish Chamber of Commerce India (SCCI) and supported by Embassy of Sweden and Consulate General in Mumbai.

The 'National Task Force on Gender Sensitisation' or 'Gensitisation' initiative is part of SCCI's Kraftsamla programme and focuses on collaborative work towards inclusive and equitable growth, with a commitment to dignity, honour, and respect for all.

Through a structured two-phase training, overseen by a senior facilitator, the annual National Task Force program aims to build ambassadors for gender justice and empower them to enact positive change in this area. It addresses urgent issues of gender sensitisation, aiming to promote attitudinal changes to eliminate gender barriers. The programme tackles various topics with the objective of understanding and unveiling the effect of prevailing worldviews, systemic evils, and global trends on family and workplace dynamics.

At Tietoevry, diversity, equity, and inclusion are fundamental in the creation of an inspirational workplace and being different is how we drive innovation forward. We strive to foster a culture that values difference and recognizes that people from different backgrounds and experiences bring valuable insights to the workplace and enhance the way we work.

We are pleased to have participated in the third batch (September 2023 - April 2024) of SCCI's National Task Force for Gender Sensitization programme. Poonam Jain and Vibha Mishra represented Tietoevry India in the programme which consisted of weekly seminars, discussions, assignments in the first phase followed by training along with other Swedish company representatives, which culminated in public online presentations on key topics related to gensitisation. Poonam and Vibha, as members of the team 'Parivarthan', presented in the fourth public seminar which addressed the topic of 'Denial' in-depth, covering various types of denial and claerly demonstarting through role plays and examples how denial can hold us captive to our perceptions of reality, shielding us from uncomfortable truths.

The Swedish Chamber’s National Task Force India on Gender Sensitization, batch 2023-24 graduated on March 22, 2024, at a ceremony hosted by Ambassador Jan Thesleff at the Embassy of Sweden in New Delhi. Debjani Ghosh, President of Nasscom, joined the ceremony along with the Ambassador and Deputy Consul, Erik Malmberg, Consulate General in Mumbai, to honor the 50 participants from various Swedish companies across India and the APAC & Oceania region.

This year, 50 company leaders engaged in critical discussions and seminars on a range of topics, including the history of gender discrimination, bounded awareness, objectification theory, and the complexities of diversity, social capital, power dynamics, and intersectionality.

Our team at Tietoevry India is delighted to be a part of this program, and believes that the learnings and perspectives gained will contribute significantly towards nurturing a more inclusive and supportive environment at our workplace.
