Tietoevry opens a new R&D services center in Nanjing to leverage the potential in China for its global and local customers. Through the extended competence and capabilities in China, Tietoevry will be scaling up its activities in the development of the latest Automotive, Smart Electronics, and Telecommunication Software technologies and related services.

The Nanjing site will focus on addressing opportunities with Telecom in mobile and core network development for equipment vendors, semiconductors and test-equipment tool vendors, as well as Automotive clients. This is in line with Tietoevry’s ambitions to further strengthen its position as a global R&D services provider.

"Opening of the Nanjing site is an important milestone in the Product Development Services growth plan – and we're very excited to establish our presence in Eastern China, where major cities such as Nanjing, Shanghai, and Hangzhou are located. Nanjing branch will work in close collaboration with our other global delivery teams in Chengdu, Beijing, Europe, and the US as well as create partnerships with local actors. The new China site will reinforce our position as one of the globally leading software R&D services players in Telecom, connectivity and networking technologies in Europe,” says Harri Salomaa, Executive Vice President, Head of Product Development Services at Tietoevry.

The establishment of the site follows an agreement with Ericsson, in which the company transfers its R&D activities in Nanjing to Tietoevry and around 630 professionals will be offered employment with the company, from November 1, 2021. Tietoevry will provide product development services to Ericsson from the Nanjing site, along with establishing operations for other customers and segments.
