Tietoevry has become a member of Gaia-X, a European initiative aimed at creating a unified ecosystem of cloud and data services governed by European data laws. The goal is to enhance digital sovereignty, build trust, and create a solid foundation for the data economy to drive growth, competitiveness, and innovation.
“Our membership in Gaia-X brings us great opportunities to collaborate with representatives from business, politics, academics and science from Europe and around the world,” says Alberto Valero, Head of Technology & Growth, Tietoevry Connect. “Gaia-X is an open, transparent and secure digital ecosystem where data and services can be made available, collated and shared in an environment of trust.”
“The aim is to exchange data in a secure and controlled way, such that companies and citizens can retain control over their data and decide where it is stored. Together we are making a strong impact for our society, organisations, and citizens in the Nordics,” says Valero.
Gaia-X is a broad open-source community with a data infrastructure ecosystem that aims to facilitate the highest standards of data sovereignty. The software federation system can connect several cloud-service providers and data owners together to ensure data exchange in a trusted environment and boost the creation of new common data spaces for the digital economy.
