Tietoevry became the first Cloud Data Management Capabilities partner in the Nordics

17 December 2021

TietoEVRY is the first consulting company in the Nordics to become an authorized partner for the newly launched Cloud Data Management Capabilities framework by the Enterprise Data Management Council (EDM Council).

The Cloud Data Management Capabilities framework compiles best practices, assessment and training for effective management of data in the cloud and accelerates adoption of cloud and hybrid cloud ecosystems. The overall objective of the framework is to build trust and confidence for the adoption of cloud technologies, offering benefits to everyone within the cloud ecosystem.

Tietoevry has helped in building the framework and delivered parts of the very first trainings. The framework was done together with leading cloud providers including Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud and IBM Cloud.

Our CDMC framework will play an integral role in the adoption of cloud data management best practices across numerous industries around the world and the Authorized Partner Program will be critical in accelerating that adoption,” said Mike Meriton, COO and Co-founder of the EDM Council.

"Tietoevry has been a great addition to the CDMC Partner Program and will play an important role in generating traction around the framework in the Nordic region.

"Cloud environments enable data and analytics to be developed in an unprecedented way - in a much shorter time and with less effort than ever before – leading ideally to greater democratization of data. However, systematic data management in the cloud environment has been given far too little attention to truly realise expected benefits” says Ritva Aula, Head of Data Management and Advisory from Tietoevry.

“Based on our experiences and observations of several projects, we embrace the CDMC framework as a welcomed tool to support our customers in ensuring their data gets systematically managed both in the cloud and hybrid environments.”

The Cloud Data Management Capabilities framework is available as a free license for internal use to all organizations in all industries, including both EDM Council members and non-members. The framework comprises six core components for managing data in the cloud:

  • Governance & Accountability
  • Cataloging & Classification
  • Access & Usage
  • Protection & Privacy
  • Data Lifecycle
  • Data & Technical Architecture
