We had the pleasure of hosting Mr. Tuure-Eerik Niemi, Deputy Consul General of Finland in Mumbai, recently at our Pune office. Mr. Niemi visited us on Friday, February 14, 2024 and was warmly welcomed by our Pune leadership team including our Pune Center Head, Parag Pandit, Finance Director, Ashwani Batra, and Director, Administration and Facilities, Shirish Wasker.
The Mumbai Consulate has been reaching out to Finnish companies in India, especially the ones operating in Maharashtra. Mr. Niemi has been engaging in regular dialogues with the Finnish business community in the region with the objective of understanding the activities of FINCHAM (Finland Chambers of Commerce in India) members and extending Consulate support where it could be beneficial.
Mr. Niemi was happy to visit the Tietoevry Pune office and shared that both his parents had spent a significant part of their careers at Tieto (now Tietoevry) and his mother specially worked on multiple Pune-based projects. He says, “I thank you for having me over at the Pune site. It was a great opportunity to get to know you and learn more about Tietoevry’s presence here. I especially appreciated this due to my parents’ Tieto backgrounds.”
Our Pune leadership and Mr. Niemi discussed various topics related to collaboration between Tietoevry India and the Finnish Consulate General office in India. Mr. Niemi invited us to approach the Mumbai Consulate for any business support or coordination with other Finnish companies or Indian government authorities as required in the future.
We were deeply honoured by the visit and will look forward to the opportunity to host Mr. Niemi in our offices again.
