The Abujhmarh region in Chhattisgarh is home to around 34,000 primitive tribals who inhabit approximately 233 far-flung villages spread across 4000 sq.km. This region’s challenging and inaccessible terrain remains cut off from the rest of the world for nearly six months each year, even today.

Due to prolonged geographical isolation, the tribal inhabitants in Abujhmarh remain extremely backward and disadvantaged. The area has a very low literacy rate and faces numerous healthcare challenges.

To address longstanding inequalities and challenges faced by the tribal community, Ashrama has initiated its 'Tribal Welfare Services'. These initiatives provide educational services, healthcare facilities, support rural development, and operate an Industrial Training Institute (ITI) for the tribal community.

At Tietoevry India, we believe in inclusive growth for all. Since 2017, we have been partnering with the Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama in Narainpur to support the socio-economic upliftment of the underprivileged tribal population in Abujhmarh by providing essential healthcare and education services

Raj Mohan, MD and Country Manager of Tietoevry India, visited the Narainpur Ashram in the second week of June 2025. During his visit, he toured the residential school and hospital, engaged in conversations with the Ashram’s administrative staff and interacted with tribal children to gain insights into the impact of our contributions on the ground.

We are proud of our successful ongoing collaboration with Ramkrishna Mission Ashrama over the years, and we are confident that through our sustained partnership, we will continue to make a meaningful impact on the lives of underprivileged tribal population.

We look forward to our continued partnership with the Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama in transforming the lives of the tribal population, enabling them to become more confident, self-reliant, and resilient; skilling a greater number of underprivileged youths; and helping them access better opportunities.
