Tieto and Folksam have a relationship dating back to 2012, when Tieto was entrusted with the task to manage Folksam’s infrastructure and applications. In recent years, Folksam has responded to the increased digitalisation of society by undertaking a major restructuring of its entire operations.
Increased digitalisation is one of Folksam’s main focus areas. As Folksam’s partner, Tieto will build an infrastructure that enables an even higher level of automatisation, increases data-driven development and meets the need of both the market and customers at a faster rate through more frequent releases. Investing in a modern IT environment also strengthens Folksam’s position as an attractive employer for IT specialists.
The deal is worth more than SEK 600 million and extends over 5 years. Folksam will from now on use Tieto’s standardised services within areas such as Private Cloud and service bundles such as IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS. With the help of Tieto’s service Application Cloud Assessment, Folksam will also get a clear overview of its application portfolio and its modernisation journey toward cloud-based solutions. Folksam will also receive the added value of Tieto’s ecosystem, which includes subsidiary Avega with its vast expertise within cloud solutions, agile change processes and Microsoft and RedHat.
