CES - Automotive R&D Showroom

Feel connected, secure, and entertained while driving

7 - 10.1.2020 / Las Vegas

CES is the world's gathering place for consumer and automotive technologies’ innovations. We invite you to experience advanced automotive service features that will come to the markets in the coming years and future.

Driver and passenger experience have come a long way – and they are evolving faster than ever. Tieto’s automotive software engineering experts create distinctive experiences around connectivity, advanced driver assistance, HMI and infotainment.

Automotive Showroom

Welcome to experience the results of recent real-life automotive software development projects around a fail-safe and non-distractive HMI and V2X communicationand Android Automotive infotainment.

Be among the first ones to experience the new features.

Venue: Tieto Business Suite (17121) is located at Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino, 3000 Paradise Rd, just 5 minutes by foot from Las Vegas Convention Center (map).

Join Lunch Seminar - Putting Android Automotive on the Road

When: Wed 8 Jan, 12-14 PST
Where: At Tieto's Automotive R&D Showroom

OEMs and car manufacturers have high expectations on Android Automotive. It is unquestionably an attractive and powerful candidate for in-vehicle Infotainment (IVI) systems improving development speed and user experience.

Register now for the network and lunch event to hear topical insights and lessons learned from the first full-scope Android Automotive Infotainment projects which are just about to go to production.

Feel safe and connected

Experience the real impact of V2X communications and great user experience.

Imagine getting automatically information about road conditions, e.g. slippery road, animals on the road, etc. from the cars driving before you. Car-to-Cloud-to-Car communication capabilities improve hugely safety on the roads and is a must-have feature for autonomous cars.

Did you know that “road condition information sharing” features are today under the testing period in the Netherlands?  We developed V2X services for HERE Technologies, contributing European-wide C-Roads project, a joint initiative of the European Member States and road operators to test and implement Cooperative Intelligent Transport Systems.

We are proud to showcase the results at CES.

How many unfortunate pedestrian accidents could be prevented with the Automatic Pedestrian Alert System

With the City of Tampere in Finland, we put Artificial IntelligenceMachine-Learning and V2X in action to solve the challenge of pedestrian safety in a city environment.

Advanced algorithms and real-time camera data recognition together turn data into an automatic alert for approaching cars. The system recognizes motions and intends and can identify a pedestrian is about to cross the road or just standing. V2X communication between the camera and approaching cars aims to prevent risky situations.

We are proud to showcase the results at CES.

Feel safe and entertained

Experience the next generation infotainment platforms such as Android Automotive and efficient in-vehicle connectivity.

Android Automotive is unquestionably an attractive and powerful candidate for in-vehicle Infotainment (IVI) systems. It improves development speed and delivers consumer-friendly user experience for drivers and passengers.

However, in development projects based on Android Automotive, we have realized that smoothly connecting Android Automotive with other in-car-services to be able to show those attractively for drivers and passengers via the same user interface, is not that simple. This is because the current Android Automotive does not provide integration to vehicle network and data as in-built-functionality. This will significantly hinder the development work and cumulates development costs.

Worries away! Discover our Accelerator, a ready-made mechanism to connect Android Automotive with other in-car-services via CAN bus.

We are proud to showcase our Android Automotive expertise in action at CES, e.g. how to improve driver’s and passengers’ safety.

Success in telematics, connectivity with cloud and V2X deployment paves the way to fully autonomous driving. Vehicle-to-everything (V2X) is a wireless technology enabling data exchanges between a vehicle and its surroundings. Data, such as speed, distance, obstacle and gesture recognition, when shared intelligently between a vehicle, nearby vehicles and surrounding infrastructure, can improve tremendously traffic safety and enable new types of value-adding automotive services.

Our partner, STMicroelectronics, is among the world’s largest semiconductor companies delivering chipsets for vehicle connectivity. Hardware plays an important role, but in software development projects we have learned that adjustments are needed, and this often ties up development resources and hinders results.

Tieto’s software R&D services help Automotive OEMs and Tier-1 vendors using ST’s Telemaco3P telematics and connectivity microprocessor to speed software development with business results and quality.

We are proud to showcase how we have deployed ST’s Telemaco3P telematics and connectivity microprocessor and created the ability for a vehicle to receive and show alerts from the surrounding environment.

How Tieto can help?

Our software engineering services are relevant, whether you need help with advice, early concepts and feasibility, or the complete software R&D outsourcing.

Tieto has ramped up ISO 26262 compliant software development processes and tools for automotive software engineering purposes. In all our deliveries we ensure ISO 26262 compliant software. The hybrid V-model and Agile Scrum process is audited by TÜV Rheinland and improves speed, transparency, and cost-efficiency of development.

As establishing ISO 26262 compliant software development is laborious, we believe many players in the automotive ecosystem can benefit our ability to scale and help companies in their software engineering challenges.
